So you call your IT company. They remote in, restart a service, and tell you it looks fine from their end. But they can't fix a network that was never built right. No amount of software will compensate for a $40 router daisy-chained off the ISP modem with no QoS, no VLANs, and no separation between your POS traffic and the guest WiFi your customers are streaming on.

One Contractor

SmallBusinessNetworkSetupSolutions

01

ISP to Access Point

Most businesses hire an ISP, then a cabling company, then an IT provider. We handle the entire path: carrier quotes, demarc extension, MDF build, switch install, and WiFi access points. One contractor. One invoice.

02

Business Phone & Internet

Your phones and internet run on the same network. We compare carrier options at your address, build the internal infrastructure to support both, and set up cellular failover so your phones stay online when the primary circuit drops.

03

WiFi That Actually Works

Commercial access points mounted on ceilings and wired back to a managed switch with PoE. Not a consumer router from the ISP sitting on a shelf. Separate networks for business traffic and guest WiFi. Coverage in every room.

CommercialNetworkSwitchInstallation

The consumer switch from Amazon doesn't separate traffic, doesn't power access points, and doesn't tell you which port connects to which device. A managed PoE switch does all three. It powers your WiFi access points through the ethernet cable (no separate electrical outlet needed at each AP), keeps your POS traffic on a separate VLAN from guest WiFi, and gives you port-level visibility into what's connected and how much bandwidth it's using.

  • Managed PoE switches sized for your device count
  • VLAN configuration for POS, business, and guest traffic
  • Power over Ethernet for ceiling-mounted access points
  • Rack-mounted in your MDF with proper cable management
  • Port mapping and labeling documentation included

Business WiFi Setup

Two to four ceiling-mounted access points cover most small offices and shops. Each one wired back to the switch, not daisy-chained like consumer mesh extenders.

We design coverage based on your floor plan, wall materials, and device count. Separate SSIDs for business and guest traffic. PCI-compliant network separation for credit card terminals. Coverage tested in every room before we leave.

Common Issues

SmallBusinessNetworkSetupProblemsWeSolve

Slow internet, dead WiFi zones, and finger-pointing between the ISP and IT provider. These are the problems businesses run into most often. Here's what we fix.

ISP Drops a Cable and Leaves

Your ISP runs service to the building demarc and walks away. Now you need someone to extend that connection to your server room, build a rack, and distribute it through the building. That's us.

Slow Internet, Wrong Diagnosis

Most slow internet complaints aren't the ISP's fault. They're caused by bad cabling, overloaded switches, or poorly placed WiFi access points. We fix the infrastructure so your bandwidth actually reaches your devices.

No Redundancy, No Plan B

How much money does your business make in a day? That's how much one internet outage costs you. Your phones, cameras, and door locks all go down together. We help you set up backup internet with automatic failover starting at $50/month.

WiFi Dead Zones

Consumer routers and mesh kits don't cut it in commercial spaces. We install commercial-grade access points in the right locations, wired back to your MDF with dedicated cabling, not daisy-chained extenders.

Too Many Carrier Options

Fiber, cable, DIA, fixed wireless, 5G. Every carrier claims they're the best. We gather quotes from all of them and help you compare pricing, speeds, and SLAs so you can make an informed decision without the sales pressure.

No Documentation

Your last contractor didn't label anything. We provide complete documentation: cable labels, network maps, rack diagrams, and circuit IDs. So the next person can pick up where we left off.

Uptime

SmallBusinessNetworkBackupandFailoverSetup

How much money does your business make in a day? That's how much one internet outage costs you. VoIP phones go silent, credit card terminals freeze, cloud applications time out, and security cameras go offline. If you run a single internet connection with no backup, you're one ISP outage away from shutting down operations.

We help you set up dual internet connections with automatic failover: a primary circuit paired with a secondary line from a different carrier or technology (cable + fixed wireless, fiber + 5G). Backup internet starts at around $50/month. If your primary connection drops, traffic switches over in seconds without anyone touching a thing.

Dual-WAN Failover

Two internet connections from different carriers or technologies (fiber + cable, cable + fixed wireless). If one goes down, traffic switches to the backup in seconds. No manual intervention.

4G/5G Wireless Backup

A completely separate physical path for maximum redundancy. Cellular failover kicks in automatically when your wired connections go down. No manual switching required.

WhoWeWorkWith

New Office Buildouts

Moving into a new space? We help you find the right internet carrier, then handle the demarc extension, rack build, cabling, WiFi, and phone system, all coordinated before move-in day.

Small Businesses

You need reliable internet that works, a WiFi network that covers your entire space, and someone local to call when something breaks. We help you find the right carrier and build the infrastructure to support it.

Property Managers

We help multi-tenant buildings compare carrier options for individual suites, install shared infrastructure in the MDF, and coordinate directly with ISPs on your behalf.

Retail & Restaurant

POS terminals, guest WiFi, security cameras, and music all fighting for bandwidth on one consumer router. We separate the traffic and add cellular backup so the POS never goes down during a rush.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

A typical small office or shop with 2,000 to 4,000 square feet runs between $1,500 and $3,500 for the full setup. That includes a demarc extension, patch panel, managed PoE switch, 2 to 3 commercial access points, cabling to each AP, guest WiFi configuration, and POS network separation. Cellular backup adds about $200 for the hardware plus $50 to $100 per month. The monthly ISP circuit is separate.

The demarc (demarcation point) is where your ISP's responsibility ends, usually at the side of the building or in a basement closet. A demarc extension runs cabling from that point to your MDF closet or network rack where your switch and patch panel live. Almost every commercial building needs one, and most ISPs won't do it. It's typically 20 to 200 feet of cable through the building.

Yes. We check which carriers service your specific address and pull quotes from all of them: fiber, cable, and fixed wireless. You get pricing, speeds, and contract terms side by side. No sales pressure, no kickbacks. We just help you pick the right connection for your business and then build the internal network to support it.

An unmanaged switch is the $30 box from Amazon. It connects devices but can't separate traffic or power access points. A managed switch supports VLANs (separate networks for POS, business, and guest WiFi), PoE (powers access points through the ethernet cable), and port-level monitoring. For any business accepting credit cards, the managed switch is what provides the PCI-required network separation.

If you have more than 4 or 5 cable runs, yes. A patch panel organizes your cable terminations in the MDF closet so you can move, add, or change connections without touching the permanent cabling. It also makes troubleshooting faster because every port is labeled and documented. Plugging cables directly into a switch works in a home office but creates a mess in any commercial space.

Most small offices and shops between 1,500 and 4,000 square feet need 2 to 3 commercial access points. A single AP covers roughly 1,500 square feet in open space, less through walls and metal. We mount them on ceilings and wire each one back to the managed switch with its own cable run. Consumer mesh extenders and repeaters create congestion; hardwired APs don't.

Cellular failover starts at about $50 per month for the data plan plus around $200 for the hardware. We set up dual-WAN configuration so the switchover happens automatically. Your phones, POS, and cameras stay online while the primary circuit is down. For most small businesses, cellular backup is the simplest and most cost-effective option.

The ISP circuit typically takes 2 to 4 weeks to provision depending on the carrier. The physical network build (demarc extension, MDF, cabling, switch, access points) usually takes 1 to 3 days depending on the size of the space and how many cable runs are needed. We coordinate both timelines so everything is ready on the same day.

Most small offices with 5-20 employees need at least 100-200 Mbps of dedicated bandwidth. If you run VoIP phones, security cameras, or cloud applications, plan for more. The real bottleneck is usually the internal network — a consumer router trying to handle business traffic will choke regardless of your ISP speed. A properly designed small business network setup ensures every device gets the bandwidth it needs.
